Brown Lentil Patties
Brown Lentil Patties
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – these patties are perfect for lunch, dinner, or as part of a nourish bowl with salad and sauce. Fully plant-based and packed with flavor!
🛒 Ingredients
250 g brown lentils
6 tbsp quinoa flour or quinoa flakes (you may need more)
3 tbsp olive oil
Ground cumin to taste
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp garlic granules
Ground mixed pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
Soak the lentils overnight.
Cook them for 25–30 minutes until soft but not mushy. In an Instant Pot – 12 minutes.
Drain well and place in a blender. Add 4 tbsp quinoa flour/flakes, olive oil, and spices. Blend on “pulse” – you want to keep some texture.
💡 Tip: Add spices gradually – everyone's taste for salt and seasonings is different.
Add the remaining flour/flakes gradually, one spoon at a time. Mix well after each and check the consistency. The mixture should be thick enough to shape patties.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
Shape the mixture into patties using your hands.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly brush the tops with olive oil.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (no fan) for 25 minutes. Then carefully flip with a thin spatula and bake for another 15 minutes.
Let them cool – they’ll firm up as they rest.
Enjoy! 💚
