Brown Lentil Patties
These patties are a great idea for lunch or dinner. Super tasty, easy to make, and entirely plant-based!
🛒 Ingredients (20 pieces)
• 250 g brown lentils
• 6 tbsp quinoa flakes (you may need more)
• 2 tbsp avocado oil (or olive oil)
• ground cumin to taste
• salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp garlic granules
• ground mixed pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
Soak the lentils overnight.
Cook for 20 minutes until soft but not mushy.
Drain well. Mash with a potato masher or fork, leaving small chunks.
Add 4 tbsp quinoa flakes, the oil, and spices. Mix well.
Gradually add more flakes – one spoon at a time – mixing well each time. The goal is to get a mixture firm enough to shape into patties.
With slightly wet hands, shape the mixture into patties and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops lightly with oil.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F), no fan, for 25 minutes. Then gently flip with a spatula and bake for another 15 minutes.
Let them cool completely – they’ll firm up as they rest.
